    Ricoh C5100 - SC577-00

    Hello folks,

I apologize in advance for the lack of knowledge regarding copiers and I beg you for patience.
Maybe you can help me save my Copier.

The machine is a Ricoh Pro C5100s that we use in our print shop for a variety of prints.
We mainly print stickers on precut sheets.

We bought this machine second hand and it has not print so much, only 120k prints.
We have sometimes the error SC577-00 that screams to call the tech.
We did it and the only solution is to reset the 5810 code in the service panel.

This has helped some times but the problem comes back after a while and goes by itself.
At the moment the printer is blocked by this error.
The tech thinks the problem could be with a sensor or something.
The error code on printcopy.info (in the C8002 section) :Error Codes > Ricoh > MPC8002SP > page 48
gives the cause triac shorted - IOB board defective.
and solutions : replace IOB board or replace the unit.

Do you think this item has a chance to save my copier?

    Thank you

sounds like the triac is bad.. a known problem.

was the tech trained on this brand? plenty of Tech pubs issued on this problem.

i would try a new triac before ANY board.

Still might not be trained on the Pro C5100 line. In fact if the dealer does not sell Production models they are not going to waste money have a tech trained. More likely to be the IOB, Input/Output Board.

I'd replace the thermistors and the hot roller NC sensor.
