Can you not get it to just do it itself? Set SP 5868-111 to 1, reboot, go into SP modes, hit firmware update, hit execute update.

Probably user error had loads of user spraying screens with sanitizer

Good point, and as far as I know, firmware isn't likely to resolve a completely unresponsive touchscreen

Regarding your screen issue most likely your client has been overzealous with the sanitation.
Usually you can strip, clean & dry out the SOP it will start working again.

Just an FYI. You can use a wired/wireless mouse on these OP panels. This will allow you to navigate the machine if the touch panel is unresponsive.
