Need to purchase a couple of basic machines...MP2554 or MP2555?

These 2 units are for a couple of basic use customers.
I have them located and a call in to purchase.

I'm wondering the good and bad about these units, I haven't sold any machines in quite a while and the units I know and loved are no more.

I do see the cost to operate is higher than previous years units.
PCU, fuser costs rose quite a bit, from what I can tell.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about these models?
Tips and tricks are welcomed also.

I think I only have 1 of each of those 2 machines in the whole field somehow. If they really are the ones I'm thinking of the biggest tip I can give you is when you rebuild the dev unit ORDER THE NEW SEALS. You have to rip the old ones off to open it up and if you don't order new ones to put back on afterwards, dev will spray out after a few thousand copies and give bad quality prints. You will see them on parts manual, Ricoh actually sell a whole PCDU rebuild kit including them too I think part number is D202 K160
Other than that can't think of any faults, but only having about 2 of them it's not enough to figure out all its little quirks and common faults. Huge toner bottles as well!

They're good machines how ever you need to have the parts in place. Drums are now modified to run similar to Ricoh Colour series, along with the fuser which has moved to a belt style system.

Fuser life is good ( expensive in cost vs MP 3353 Hot rollers)
Drum life is much better in comparison to MP 3353 which always crap out at or less than 60K.

The one thing that is a draw back is the toner density is no where as good as the MP 2851, MP 2852, MP 3353 etc. Change in toner and developer recipe.
This is not to say that they can't print deep blacks in images, but when you compare things like the counter print page triangle, you can clearly see a difference. Took me a while to get adjusted to that difference.

To get in to the MP 2554 Or MP 2555 you should have a PM kit on hand for the drum and fuser.
I prefer the 4 series B/W because the base machine does not have the smart panel. Ricoh smart panel sucks and is a joke. The MP 2555 does support airprint however.
