Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode

I'm going to do some testing to see how the numbers in my machine change with different paper size, double/single etc.

My manual states that A3 is double counted though, but even if the machine had exclusively printed out in A3 format I cant get the numbers to add up. Am I missing something? And Mark Bbb too.

Is it possible to somehow reset the user numbers and the 7803-01 number?
SP 7804-001 resets the count in SP 7803-001. Also if a tech needs to correct a problem by replacing the NVRam and properly backs up and restores the NVRam values, jam, SC, and parts history is restored. Total counters are not.

Thanks for additional info, it is beginning to make sense now, for my machine at least, that there probably have been som replacement done in a previous life where som counters have not/could not be restored.

Anyway, for what it's worth, did some testing.

7803-01, counts +1 for every page printed, regardless of paper size, double sided counts +2 ofc.
7803-02, counts +1 for A4, both SEF and LEF, counts +2 for A3, double sided counts +2/+4 for A4/A3, counts for both B/W and color.
7803-03/04/05, same as 7803-02 except don't count on B/W ofc.
    7803-14, counts same as 7803-02

Not much of surprice here I guess.
For me, I learned something new at least

    Edit:
I have not tested which counts do not increase when printing reports for example.

on the users list any service reports or when put in service test mode shouldn't show...

total prints/copies/fax/test service or otherwise will show.

There is also the mechanical lease counter. Might be located under the lower right inside front panel. Usually has has tape covering the opening in the panel. Disconecting t will cause an error if you try to copy or print.

Would this be more of a US only counter?
I dont think my machine has it, I have had most covers off without seeing any at least.

Anyway, seems like many counters must be taken with a (big) grain of salt.
And the service mode printing do cause a small discrepancy too.

I'd rather don't think off a customer with a contract who knows about the sp mode copying not counting...
