    IM C3500 vs. MP C3504

Hey all...I apologize if there is a thread addressing this topic. I could not find it if there was.

Anyways, I haven't physically dealt with or looked at the Metis-MF3 series yet but I am about to make the leap to them from the 04 series.

I know the 04 and 03 series shared a lot of common items, and I was curious what, if at all, the Metis-MF3 and Metis-C2 or -C1 shared in common.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

They are pretty much the same the IM C now has user replaceable PCDU, Fuser & transfer unit they are relatively cheap too.

You're saying the guts are interchangeable? Drums, developers, fuser, transfer belt?

    Or not

Sorry auto correct changed my sentence.

On the IMC range the end user can replace the units (no tools required.)

From what I know the IMC uses different PCDU and fusers to the 03 and 04 ranges. You will not be able to swap parts between your 04s and the IMC
To follow on from what copier tech said, the IMC parts all slide inand out with no tools required, you do not rebuild them anymore either, it is literally cheaper to buy whole units and swap out. The parts also cost less than the 03 and 04 models too. Easier to work on in that respect. Haven't had much issue with the IMC range yet, 1 or 2 had weird scan or print problems that were resolved with a firmware update, one had a squeeky duplex roller which I actually did a post about maybe 2 years ago on here. Other than that I have no complaints, they seem decent.

Only issue we’ve had with a few of these is where the developer leaks from the center of the development unit and causes a streak down the center of prints. Have tried the modification from the previous series, but it only helps for a short while. Ended up having to replace the entire black unit to resolve.
