    Ricoh MPC6503 (Charis) - Jam code 025

    Hi Chaps,

We have an MPC6503 with intermittent jams at fuser exit/inverter sensor - Jam code 025.

Fuser has been rebuilt with all parts replaced. Sensors cleaned etc etc. Paper seems to stop and concertina up after fuser and before inverter.

    Anyone other ideas welcome......

    Thanks

All original OEM Parts replaced. Mainly A4 from any tray.

In saying this I've just run over 500 sheets through and ZERO jams. I'm gonna run with it and keep an eye on Jam history.

Are you sure the jam code is 025, not listed in the service manual, and not 015 Exit Unit Entrance SN: Late?

Check the lower fusing guide plate and the plastic entrance guides for the exit section for warping, burrs and broken fingers. I have had to replace them in the past for jams in that area. I have also had the exit entrance sensor go flaky due to the heat from the fusing unit. The entrance and exit sensors for the exit are the same and can be swapped to see if that corrects the problem.

What sort of mileage is this thing on? The exit units start to get a bit tired around the 1.5m mark.

If intermittent jam could be exit sensor starting to go down try swapping with paper transport sensor

Look closely at the exit assembly, just past the fuser....the guide actually warps from exit roller tension / pressure.
I ran around in circles to find the problem, very intermittent jams.

    Good luck !

    Hi Chaos,

This turned out to be a slighty broken blue connector block on right rear side of the main draw unit. This was causing a loose connection of the cable and resulting in intermitten Jams at fuser exit (Code 25). Connector blocks replaced and wiring cable reconnected.

    All sorted
