    MPC8002 672-12 code

I changed the usb/multi pin connector (there attached at the hip) cable from the control board to the control panel, this is the first step, the code didnt come back till late yesterday, it seems to only pop up when the machine is sitting idle for a while, then a job gets sent to it and the code appears.
I will change the cntrl board and contrl panel and report back
does anybody have another fix? is this code being generated by another situation not related to the codes meaning?
    Thanks

Rarely (if ever), has it been the HDD for us.
Usually when it's a SC672-XX (anything but '00"), we have replaced the Op Panel itself.
Have had one controller replacement for a 672-00 code.
USB cable replacement has NEVER worked for us.

Does it have a Fax unit on board?
Could try the Ol' Go-To of removing options one by one and powering on to see if it gets past the code.
But My money is on the Op Panel.

    Re: MPC8002 672-12 code

okay, it wasnt the panel, the cable , its the control board on the hdd side, so far it seemed to be this board, im waiting for a replacement for the C8002, i put a whole contrl assembly in the machine from a 6502, yes its saying fuser setting error
but it was just an elimination test, the front panel is fine, as well as the cable to it, i can get into service mode ect..
so until i get the replacement control board, the machine is still down, but we think we have it solved.
