    SC142 Ricoh MPC3003 and 3353

    Hi everyone,
Most of you know what SC142 code means, its white balance error... ok but its my fault that sc code occured.

I had some problems with ARDF and MP3353 machine, so I swapped ARDF for other machine....BUT I didnt attach a ground wire (from ARDF to SIO board), i just forgotten (it hided somewhere behind) and that ground cable did a shortcut on SIO board... from that moment the copier gives SC142 code. So i took a SIO board form different machine (MPC3003 - same type of SIO board) and put it into MP3353. Nothing happen... still same SC142 code.... Worst thing is, when I took back that new SIO (that SIO board form MPC3003) and put in to MPC3003 - that copier gives same code too.... So i assume that MPC3353 has destroyed SIO board and some other board which destroyed new SIO board form MPC3003, but do you have any idea which board can be destroyed too?

Now i have 2 destroyed copiers, in great condition (like new) and Im affraid to swap any other board.... it may be SBU board or IPU destroyed.... the 4-646 mode gives 0011111100000000 errer readings (six "1" means bad white balance readout from the scanner sensor).

Are you talking about a MP 3353 Black and White or a MP C3353 which as far as I know does not exist. What made you think that you could take a DF 3090 from a B/W and put it on a color model. Both may use the same model DF but more than likely the DF firmware is different. Most likely the SIO board is OK. The DF PCB, probably not.

As for the SC 142, most likely causes are Mirrors or lenses dirty or positioned incorrectly or White plate dirty or installed incorrectly

Im talking about MP3353 (b&w), ARDF ist the case, now I run both copiers without DF.

MP3353 worked good until I swapped ARDF's, the ground wire of ARDF (i forgotten to screw down) did a short circuit on SIO board, touched the board and electronics parts. From that moment SC142 occured. Next I put SIO board from MPC3003 (same catalog / part number). It didnt solve the sc142 problem. And when swapped again the SIO board from MP3353 and put into MPC3003 back... both machines show SC142 (looks like MP3353 destroyed SIO board form MPC3003).

I know most common SC142 reasons and cleaning mirrors, optics, white balance strip were first things I did so its not the reason of SC142.

SC 142 occured after short circuit. Now I have 2 great copiers with small counter, with great condition (like new) with SC142 on both...

did you try and clear the codes in SC mode?

Yes i tried (theres no reset sc mode) it resets when U run service mode.

The ground wire did a short circuit on SIO board so its possible other electronic board is defective and destroyed SIO from MPC3003... dont know what to do, Im affraid to swap any boards because of reason to destroy them.

4-646 mode gives a readout that means all colors (RGB) of the scanner sensor gives bad readout (durong white balance read).

Ok did you try to reset in SM?
I WORK only many different brands and sometimes get the damn terminology mixed up..
Are you trained on Ricoh because your profile doesn't even state you are a tech nevermind trained on any brand.

    SM usually means Service Manual.
