hmm, it fails to write, try to check via wim, in the "system monitor", or print the network configuration from user tools, you will find the system monitor log there, and see what kind of error report it generates ... di usually they are often linked to dns resolution, or firewall/antivirus blocks, which you can possibly disable temporarily to perform tests
No.
A 15+ year old machine will scan to FTP.
Don't know this Qnap program. I use Filezilla if/ when I need to use FTP.
Something is not correct in your settings on the PC / program.
Why aren't you using SMB? FTP is generally only used as a last resort on old machines that don't support SMB 2/3.
Hi

What model Qnap NAS do you have? Some low end model NAS do not support writing to them from anything but a PC using their software interface. I ran into that problem once at an orthopedic office. The IT who installed it insisted that it should work and the problem was my MFP until I handed him and the office manager the spec sheets for the model he installed and the next higher priced one that did support it.
Hey Mark,
I didn't actually pay attention to that part.
I was just trying to make the point that I could set up Scan to FTP with an old AF2022 without issue (for example) if I had to, so I don't feel that F/W had any bearing on the problem.
However, that was before I knew he was using MAC -not that I think that makes any difference either.
All the best!
