isn't cold yet, and now a customer had a data cable broken (digging work outside) and ask to do a printer installation of her mpc2051 via her i-phone.

There is a trick I learned long ago, and it can be a bit tricky to master.
We all want to do right but our customers but sometimes, the best thing you can tell them is "no".

Debbs, ok, if the printer has a wifi function. But this mpc2051 hasn't. It uses a T-link, so data is traveling over the electricity cables to the other end of the T-link (which is than connected to the router). But... that router is out of service now cause of the cable broken (for a few days). There are some wireless tools, i don't know a lot about them.

Debbs, ok, if the printer has a wifi function. But this mpc2051 hasn't. It uses a T-link, so data is traveling over the electricity cables to the other end of the T-link (which is than connected to the router). But... that router is out of service now cause of the cable broken (for a few days). There are some wireless tools, i don't know a lot about that.

If it's a WiFi router you could in theory just switch it to WiFi repeater mode/WiFi bridge mode and connect that to the iPhone hotspot for internet connection. Depending on router specs and if it supports extender mode obviously. Just a theory, never had to try something like that before.

It should go with a (damn forgotten the word) repeater(?).
Flybox is it named here in Belgium and the provider is Orange, it has a SIM card in it.
After installation that signal is than picked up by an i-phone.
The printer is connected to that "repeater" (?) and so it should work.

In theory yes. WiFi router as extender/repeater/bridge will connect to hotspot wirelessly and wired connection from router to printer.

Remember to switch printer DHCP on and write down current network settings to reverse everything when their line gets fixed and don't need to use the hotspot anymore

Unfortunately iPhone tethering and hotspot software is specifically designed to ringfence each connection for security purposes. You can have a handful of people join the same iPhone and they will all get internet but no network communication will pass between the clients.

You'd need to go out and buy a little router that supports tethering or client mode.

What is the distance between the buildings that where connected by the broken underground cable? If it is too far for a normal WiFi connection, there are companies that provide extended wireless connection. The construction company should be responsible for the cost.

Is the customer just wanting to print to the C2051 from her iPhone? If you can install a WiFi router connected to the C2051 she should be able to connect the iPhone to the WiFi. One of Ricoh's apps for iPhone should then allow printing to the C2051 by IP address.
