Cool Best Lubricant For Ricoh 7100 Drum and Cleaning Blades

    Hello Everyone,

I'm getting ready to replace my drums for all colors. This will be my first time to do this so I have no idea what lubricant to use. Could you please share any suggestions on what works best for you? I have seen the resin pouch as recommended on the service manual but I can't find that thing anywhere. I have also seen YouTube videos where yellow toner is used to lubricate blades and drum however not sure how well that works.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Ricoh recommends a mixture of equal amounts of G104 Yellow Toner (D0159500) and Zinc Stearate (D0159501). D104 yellow toner does not contain any developer like found with the MP C6000 and later models which can damage the drum surface. The same mixture can be used on the ITB. Information was found in the MP C6501 service manual.

Lubrication of OPC is just to prevent dry start. As soon printer start to print he will get automated lubrication. So, any yellow toner will work ok. Just do it with brush to do not pick up carrier if any.

    According to the service manual
"Always use the G014 Yellow Toner, not the yellow toner of the D081/D082 or
    D014/D015.
ƒThe D081/D082/D014/D015 yellow toner contains developer that could
damage the surface of the drum and ITB"

Unless you are using something magnetic to draw the developer out, the brush method does not often work.

I use the old powdered lubricant from the ITB cleaning unit lube bar if I am doing a Leo PM, any new blades just dip the edges in it before installation.

I made myself a "yellow toner box", with the aspirin container, and a piece of sponge stuck in the cap, which I use to "powder" the new components, I always keep it in the suitcase, and I use it on all models, both black / white and color, the toner is that of the mpc2500.
