Cool White Streaks When Printing Yellow

    Hello Everyone,

My yellow prints contain multiple white streaks (See attached images) . I printed 3 solid prints for all 4 colors. The magenta seems to print flawless, the black and cyan have very dim streaks along the long sides of the paper and the yellow is horrible as it has white streaks ( multiple ) along the sides of the paper. The thing I don't understand is that the streaks on black, cyan and yellow align perfectly. So if yellow was the problem I should not see the lines in cyan and black unless they do need a little yellow toner.

I have added new developer for all colors and changed all the transfer rollers on the machine (they were due) hoping the problem was going to be resolved. However, the problem is still present. I bought a new fuser belt I need to replace today but I'm starting to think is not the fuser but instead the problem is the yellow PCU. Before buying a new PCU for yellow toner though I wanted to get your opinion on what could be causing the streaks to appear heavily on yellow and dim on other colors.

I'm out of ideas here aside from changing the PCU but that is expensive so i'm trying to leave that as last resort.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Clean yellow laser glass.
    If that doesn't help,
    Replace yellow development unit.

    Hi FrohnB

Thank you for the suggestion. I checked the laser glass and it was clean. I think I will go ahead and order the development unit. Do you know why I see the same streak but dimmer in cyan and black? I know the yellow is the main problem since the solid yellow print clearly has the white streaks all over. However, I don't understand why they also appear in a dim way for cyan and black as well.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

    Thanks

Can you post a photo of the Color Calibration page? That would be helpful.

    Looks like drum charge roller(s).

I changed all 4 charging roller 3 weeks ago and it print fine until recently. The charging roller looks pretty good with no scratches or anything that would cause a bad current. But I also suspected it to be the caused at first. I would much rather spend money on a charging roller than a development unit.

The development unit has new developer, drum and charging roller the only thing left to replace is the actual development unit although per the counter is not time to replace.

Do you think the fuser belt could cause the streaks? The streaks appear in thin and thick stock. I read the troubleshoot manual and it says it could be the fuser belt but I think the problem is coming from the development unit.

    thoughts?

From his description I bet ALL the devs are over life and depending on the model the dev units aren't THAT expensive...cheaper than a PCDU.
