Aficio MP C5000 shows 'Printing...' and nothing happens. OSX / PS

I looked at his firmware list and not only is it the wrong version, it is for the wrong machine. His list is showing D0125754, the proper number is D4135013A PostScript3 Unit Type C5000. Agreed: updated PostScript plenty of times. It may be that Ricoh's firmware tool doesn't offer any of the paid modules. Someone else will need to confirm this.

Never done that, the Postscript 3 module is just a license container, the actual function and firmware is build in the controller. If the PS3 card doesn’t show up, buy a new.

That is true starting with the Cxx02 models which came from the factory with support for PDF Direct. The C5000 requires the PS3/PDF SD card in order to use either PostScript or PDF Direct. Check your Product Support Guides.

I know for some models it's not enough just to plug the SD card in (the correct slot) so you better take a look at the installation guide. I think the MPC3002 does have another SD card (I think it was VM) so you need to move the data/licence via SP mode. Same goes for uninstalling the option - SD card will be worthless if one doesn't follow the description.

PS3/PDF does show up on the list of firmware but it is not the correct one.
