RICOH MP XX54-XX55 models toner level

    Hi everyone,
I have a few copiers (for example RICOH MP5055, MP 4054) that always shows 100% toner level on the display and comunicate that level to the monitoring software as well. It happened that upgrading the firmware of a copier solved the issue but in other cases the problem persist. Any suggestions?

I don't know what that means, I think you are asking if they're originals, yes they are. Sometimes they're brand new, they work well for month then suddenly always show 100% toner and never decrease

you know that I did not understand the question ... you say that despite being consumed, it always remained at 100%? .. if so, I have no feedback, never happened ... at the limit it happened to me, that the "bar" did not appear, but, it was the faulty chip

I dont know about Ricoh, but toner yield for Canon IR can be changed. Maybe this is cause with Ricoh as well. Yield is I think 9000, what if someone by mistake set up to 90 000 pages.

    btw

How you see that toner need to be changed? Supplay status just drop on 0%?

Correct, toner stays at 100% until it drop to 10%-0% when it's finished

Yes, toner level drop to 10% or 0% when it's finished. I don't think that someone changed similar settings, we (me and my colleagues) don't even know if there are

OK, I see. If you have any toner which already work for 3-4000 pages, try to take out toner, shake a toner and reisntall same toner. Then, restart printer. I wonder what will happen. I am not usre how this printer measure toenr level but I think that have toner sensor, maybe is just dirty. If pritner is new, then this should not be a cause.
Also, try to print setings of printer which work well and defective one, compare pages....

A few stupidities I've had to deal with on the Corona and it's toner supply have had to do with the ID sensor being dirty. I've seen two SP8400's now that have done the same thing. They won't recover from toner end as the ID sensor was absolutely covered with toner. May be worth a look if yours is being stupid too.

Was the toner supply system properly initialized when the machine was unboxed?
