MP C5503 Open Door Issue

Hello all,

I have a Ricoh MP C5503 that is having an issue with the front door sensor. This started with a jam and spiraled into it being unusable. The copier claims there is a door open but the diagram on-screen show no open doors. I open a door, it shows on screen and I shut it and it goes away but claims there is something still open.
I unplugged the finisher, took out the transfer unit and flashed firmware to try and get it up and running again.
Anyone experience this before? I called the guy who supplies us with copiers (a former tech) and he is just as confused as I. We checked every door sensor to make sure it registered open/closed correctly which it had.

Have you tried to use the Input Output checks SP 5803 to see which switch it is? Some units the waste toner unit cover will not be shown on the screen but will turn on the cover open indicator. It will also cause a J001 if it happens while paper is moving through the machine.

Have you checked the blown fuse conditions for your machine?

Input check is a good start. Usually there's multiple "old school-ish" switches behind the right/upper front cover area - these cover both the front cover and side door. Side door also have another switch somewhere at the rear end of the fuser I think.

Do you happen to know what the switches are labeled in 5803? I took a look through there are checked the obvious one and made sure they would change outputs when I open/close it.

Do you have a service manual? They are all listed there.
