    mpc3004 transfer belt torn

    I know I had posted this before, but i can not find it on the internet anymore.
    We have regulair a tore transfer belt on a (always the same) c3004.
    Do you have the same experience?

    You mean the back end is "shreddered"? We have this every now and then but far from calling it an issue.

    That's the problem indeed. I wonder how this could happen, because other mfp's don't have this issue...

    I'm not shure - from the old series I know that there was some sort of narrow film/tape below both ends of the transfer belt keeing it running centered around the pulley/rollers of the ITB frame. Sometimes these films got loosened/peeled off by itself causing the belt

    This usually happens when the devs are getting a bit tired and they start puffing toner. There is a roller on the bottom of the ITB unit that has a bronze bushing either side. The roller gets stiff, the friction on the belt increases, the belt detonates. Just replace whatever devs are due, change the filters, then replace the ITB unit.
