Since, I have some discarded Transfer belts, I might do a test run with a dishwasher liquid.
It may damage the belt but I shall try and inform my results, accordingly with

    1) respect to cleanliness,
    2) Mylars condition and
    3) Print condition (if the above two conditions are good).

If I am late I shall start a new thread to provide details.
    Thank you.

I wouldn't want to discourage you, but washing the ITB is practically useless work, it doesn't get any benefit.
it is more important to clean the itb cleaner ... to the limit

Re: Cleaning the Ricoh MP Colour series transfer belt

i have rebuilt some PIG mpc3003,mpc3503 units where there was cat hairs in the ITB cleaning unit.
1st i remove the sponge roller and clean it dry with clean paper towels.
and remove the cleaning unit and vacunm out banging it a bit to loosen everything.
And for the belt i lightly wipe it with a cloth with alcohol.
It will streak a bit but that will all wipe away.
I reassemble all and lub the belt with yellow toner at the ITB cleaning blade.

    Thank you.
    Just wanted to inform.
I did clean the old transfer belt with the ultrasonic cleaner and used liquid dishwasher solution.
The result were not very encouraging as it was only 15% better than manual cleaning.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.

i thought 16% would be possible???
Too many chemicals can cause issues down the road with life span of belt and cleaning unit...
I only clean them when i get that oily type look on them..

I've never cleaned one yet. They go a long time, then rip eventually. Just replace the whole assy. at that time and it's probably good for the rest of the life of the machine.
