    Proc 5100 or Proc 6502 or 751

    Hi guys

Got a friend who's considering the purchase between a Proc 5100 or Proc 6502 or 751.

He asked me about it but since I specialise in black and white machines I told him I'll find out from you guys the pros and cons on these machines.

If anyone who's familiar with these can advise I'd appreciate it

In the current market situation, availability of Genuine Ricoh toner could be a major deciding factor. No point in having a Production Color machine that you can't use because it is out of toner.

    Thanks Slimslob.

My opinion is don’t buy, these are old boxes, if not maintained after the PM schedule, this could be very expensive experience for your friend.
Please start you post with brand, model, problem.

Look at the condition of the 5100 vs the 6502, take the better one. I'd stay away from the 751.

Sorry for the off-topic question, since when is there a shortage of toner?
We do not know that data in our area. Has anything happened?

I think he means the MP C6502, the production version of which is the Pro C5100. Nice color units but if not placed properly and set properly, they will eat you alive on toner and waste toner bottles. Low pages per job average can result in excessive Process Control being ran to maintain print quality if ProCon sand DEMS left at factory settings. Basically in factory settings the machine must use a certain amount of toner in each development unit to maintain proper quality. If it is not used making prints, auto controls will then use it printing adjustment patches.
