I've got fwu files from Gift, thanks a lot! However flashing didn't work for me. here is the steps I followed.
- I created 200MB FAT32 partition
- Placed romdata folder with *.fwu files inside on SD card.
- Inserted SD card to SD slot 2 and turned on the machine.
Below 2 screenshots which follow each other.
Error message:
Reboot after card insert. E32
GW5d_prt_PS3 Card No.:1/1

PS3.... sounds like it's asking for postscript firmware. PM is incoming in a minute
Did you try a reboot without the SD card with firmware afterwards? So I press 143 and then clear button 3 times. Machine beep 2 times but nothing happen.
try, I read it on an old thread , (never tried it personally)
How to cancel the errors:
1) Press "143" using the number keys while the error code is displayed.
2) Press the "CLEAR" key 3 times.
3) The system will beep 3 times and the error display will disappear.
To ensure the above error codes do not occur, please be sure to follow the procedure below whenever installing several kinds of firmware at the same time: 1. First, install the System firmware only. 2. After successfully installing the System firmware, turn the machine main power Off/On and confirm that the machine boots up to Ready status normally. 3. Install the remaining firmware simultaneously.
Or Clear mode, 1,4,3, clear / stop, clear / stop, clear / stop, restart

If you placed the .fwu directly in the romdata folder, that could be your problem. You may need to create a product code folder in the romdata folder and place the .fwu files in that folder. The folder name should be either D086, the code on the serial number plate or D087, the code on the main machine firmware files. Service manual says D086.
Sorry for the late response.
Thanks to all your help I was able to recover the machine!! I placed biggest fwu file on the SD card and was able to flash the printer successfully.
Turned out that was system copy I thought system copy is the name of the file. Thanks to the Gift fort the file! You saved me!ok, all right, its after the 2 beep the error was cleared up, that you make a machine restart with sd card insert with only systemcopy and no other files inside
I didn't reboot to see if it will solve the issue. I started flashing process.Did you try a reboot without the SD card with firmware afterwards?
I tried both ways, and it seems like for this printer it doesn't matter if I have D086 folder inside of the romdata. But yes, I think that is official way to flash the machine. If you placed the .fwu directly in the romdata folder, that could be your problem. Now I can use the machine from WIndows 7 desktop and it seems to be working fine. However I can't access it from Mac. I can't even install printer, mac says it is busy. Not sure why
In the past around 5 years ago, I bought SD card with some postscript profile, which kind of was necessary for printing on Mac. Now after flashing the machine, when I insert the SD card with profile, printer can't even connect to the network. But that is probably the next step

This is interesting, I'll try to add this too. May be I won't need SD card with postscript after that. Cause this machine doesn't work with my mac now. Because after flashing it stopped recognizing postscript SD card I used to print from Mac.PS3.... sounds like it's asking for postscript firmware. PM is incoming in a minute
Thanks for the feedback - glad to hear it worked
