Changing region on a MFP

Hi, all. We resale off lease equipment, and sometimes we get a machine that has A4 (european) paper sizes listed in the machine, and no 8 1/2 x 11 option. I think this is a region issue. Can I change the region code to US? It seems like that was an option long ago, but I can't locate the SP to do that in the models I'm dealing with now.
