I wonder if there is an SP setting to totally disable it ?
Don't know if this counts as "grave digging" - I assume it doesn't, because it's still an ongoing issue.

I also have a couple of customers whose Windows 11 computers also keep on "discovering" WSD Ricoh printers even with WSD turned off.

Anyone found anything since this post that solves this?

    Cheers.

More than likely Windows is merely discovering "a printer" and when it does, it automatically assigns it to the WSD printer port and the Ricoh Type driver, or what ever is the printer make. This is the result of Network Discovery being turned ON.

No other manufacturer has this cause aything like the havoc it does with Ricoh and it has gone on for years and years. Surely there is a way? Help me please, I am close to the edge....
I have just witnessed that on already 10 machines, just updated FW and everything works fine. Mostly the MPC3003 and few IMC these seem to have that problem. Soon as Ethernet cable was out it worked and soon as it’s plugged in then send print jobs then it starts to freak out, and no matter windows, iOS, macOS, just from printjob, even when printjob isn’t present still would splash it out.

No I don't class this as 'grave digging' others might. It's important to keep ongoing issues like this in the open.

I have found that by executing SP 5801-008 Printer memory & -011 NCS Network this will delete the offending job.

I do not know if this will help you, but via the Ricoh UK Tech forum:

Disabling WSD - Device/ Printer /Scanner prevents these functions from being used with the WSD protocol. It does not prevent it from being discovered.
To prevent the MFD being discovered and set up on hosts that use WSD you can also disable:

SSDP UDP:1900 via Web Image Monitor/ telnet / Device Manager NX
(Device discovery using UPnP from Windows cannot be used.)

    WS-Discovery UDP/TCP: 3702 via telnet / Remote Communication Gate S
(WSD (Device, Printer, Scanner) search function cannot be used.)

[T]elnet command to disable is: set wsdev down

To view the WSD config the command is: show ws-mfp

That is what we are doing now on all new installs and service calls. Only keeping IIP on if they use Airprint.

    Re: SC899-00 abomination.

I attended a Ricoh Teams tech meeting recently, and they said that there is firmware to address the 899 codes. The problem is with IPP printing protocol. they specifically mentioned Windows 11 but I know that Macs, Iphones and I think even chrombooks use IPP. My standard procedure for 899 codes is to unplug the ethernet cable, update the firmware to the latest, web browse the copier with my laptop to turn off Airprint, WSD, IPP, & Bonjour. I then turn on user codes, then plug the copier back into customer's network to let the "bad" print job clear out. After I watch the data light stop blinking, I turn user codes back off and re-enable the protocols. that flushes out the bad job without having to visit every computer or device on the network to search for the offending device.
