    this fixed it as the bit was indeed set to 1 . I have asked for a better explanation of what that bit switch is but havent had a reply.

    Customer happy now.

    Next question...which Numpty changed that bit switch at run up?
    Coz in the run up guide the only Printer dip switch we touch is 1-001-005.

    well there is the question isnt it... My guess is they didnt change the SP switch number ,thought they had and set the bit. interesting thing is on a IMC2000 in the office that bit switch is set to 00000000 , where as the one i had was set to 10110000 . so now i am wondering what bits 4 and 5 do? will have to look for the manual.

    printer seems to work fine now and customer isnt complaining of any issues.
