i had a couple of instance where the compatible toner not working properly . try make a sky shot double sided 25 copies and see if toner stays bonded if not toner is no good to use.

2 questions: 1. No error code???
2. What role does the sleeve play??? Older copiers(which I prefer) had two rollers. Fusing a result of heat & pressure. I inspected the unit more closely(having never done so before) noticing the flimsiness of this part. What supports the sleeve??? Did not want to fully disassemble since I don’t have replacement parts. Did check pressure between the sleeve & press roller and found it to be tighter on ends than the middle but couldn’t see any swelling in press roller on ends as was stated for a possible problem. I’m going to replace the sleeve and press roller hope it resolves issue. Also noticed poor fusing is worse in duplex copying.
Thanks!!!
try fresh dry paper, paper with some moisture in it would cause such issues. If you don't have fresh paper, make 20 pages of blank copies then use that paper to make 20 duplex copies to see if there is any difference.
Live for something or die for nothing.
I usually change the pressure roller when: either it has exceeded the pm duration, or when it is scratched where the thermistors touch, and I change those too, you don't see any codes, because the machine probably reads the wrong temperature, so that's all for it ok.
the sleeve system, as it is conceived, mainly serves to almost instantaneously reach the melting temperature for fixing the toner... in addiction of everything slimslob said.
I find this thing about the "non-homogeneity" of pressure roller quite unlikely
iI had similar problems a couple of times on this series, it was the double thermistor that was faulty[/Would the thermistor cause insufficient heat; that is the temp not to reach set amount??? And this wouldn’t throw an error code???
the answer is within your question, if the thermistor is out of tune, the controller doesn't know it, so it controls the heater based on incorrect data, (even a toner crust is enough)...however since there is a rindondance with a comparing the signals of the two upper ternistors at a distance, if the deviation remains in a certain range, the machine does not generate any code, but a toner fixing defect is produced.
I would like to remember that the bulk of the sc codes that statistically involve the fuser unit are mostly related to over temperatures.
