I have encountered a much similar problem: MPC3000 Image Processing problem on Color mode only. Enclosed are sample for Color mode and BW mode. Need some advice to trace down root cause. SP4-904-1 Register Acess Tested OK(all five Zeros), But 4-904-2 Tested Not Good, (code: 00003) The Red band always happened Rear Side. sub-scan direction.

    CCD filter Scan line Correction

Enclosed is scanning from platen cover, the Reddish shading on top rear improved a little after erasing blank margin, but still there. is there anyone know Sp4991 Image Pass Selection, default 2 now after firmware updated, say " RGB RGB image done by shading correction(shading on, black offset ON. Changing to option "5" : RGB image done by line skipping correction as per Service Manual. Machine don't allow to change, keep 2 selection. Is there another sp mode to the filter parameter of CCD?
    Thanks

Put all your settings back to factory, give machine good clean, change any parts due, stop fiddling with settings, I have never had to change any of these.

Attached file really show natural white light reflecting the reddish light through photocopier's lens for CCD processing,
Is there any one knowing it?
