    I've had the same issue with my Ricoh mpc5501 and have resolved it.

    I simply formatted the HDD drive using engineers code 5837#

    The printer then took and retained the inputted static IP address

    Great!.....We'll be sure to load that into the time machine and send it back to 12 years ago when this thread was started!
