[Error Code] Ricoh MPC 7500 J001 with no signs where to remove paper

    Hiya

I have a Ricoh MPC 7500 J001 with no signs where to remove paper.

I have changed the door switches, both sets, updated the firmware, swapped the duplex unit, and whole transport section with the fuser unit in it from another machine.

When I open the door the message does not disapear and door open does not show but the lights on the Printer/Scanner go off and on with the door so it knows the door is opening. Drastically reset the memory and still no joy. Reset the SC and swithched the machine off and on several times and at the plug.

Starts up straight away after a few whirs saying J001, Paper Misfeed, please remove paper from the following points, showing the copier but nothing is high lighted just a picture of the machine with blue lines on it. Disconnected the ADF and Sorter as well.

Never had this. Any help would be FAB as I am lost and knackard after hours of looking.

Hiya Besserwisser. I was thinking that as just took some main board connectors off to see if I have any change but no joy. I will have a go with a spare machine I have and let you know. Thanks for coming back so quickly.

        Hiya

I have swapped the Power supply boards/unit, both, and still no good, always checking to see if the units I took off work on the donor machine and all fine with that. The last resort is now the Main Boards....if anyone has any other ideas that would be gratefully received

Have you tried disconnecting / swapping the feed stations? Could be there's a sensor out in one of them. Also, take out the LCT and all paper trays before you start it up, may be a trapped wire.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

Hiya....it does not have an LCT but I will try with all the draws open tomorrow. It's funny tho as it just does not show anything to say where any paper is. I have taken a picture of the display but not sure how to put it in here with my iphone but will do. I have replaced the paper trays supply board as well. Appreciate your time.

Had this as well,my fault was trapped wire caused by the controller board shorting out a wire-try -opening up the controller & then turning on-worth a shot!Did same as u ,unplug everything-draws open etc, good call on unplugging pf units

J001 is a 'power on' jam, you may have a flaked out sensor. I would suggest doing an Input Check to determine if any sensors exhibit paper present.

Hi Teebee. Thanks for the advice. I will be putting back the boards today which I swapped to see if that was the issue and get straight on it before I continue with the main board.

I will let you know. Really appreciate it.

Hiya. Well found the problem and it was because of a combined help from the messages. I checked the draws and no paper stuck anywhere but as it was a power on jam as mentioned and as I had swapped the transport and fusee section it must of been a draw error...as someone had said. So I just air blasted all the area and sensors and it worked. There is or was alot of paper dust from cheap paper so if it happens again I will do a proper industrial blast and clean.

Hope this has helped anyone. Thanks for all your help. If I can help at all or any MPC Firmware as I have just had the latest which cured a scanner issue please ask.

                    Tim.

You are on the right track, these boxes needs to be turned off for approximately 8 years to be reset...

If jam D is a Fusing exit jam, the fusing exit sensor is failing. Whether it be a reed switch or optical sensor when they get old they tend to fail when they have been hot for a length of time. Once they cool down they start working for a while. The length of time they work slowly gets shorter. Common with optical sensors on older 35/45 ppm models and reed switches on older martini models.

thanks soo much for the reply.. yesterday i removed all the trays and used a blower on the machine then i went switched it off until today morning.. when i switched it on the paper jam error at D was gone but there is a new error sc555 which the manual says is a thermistor problem i used 5810 to clear it but it keeps coming back when i leave the machine idle without printing. i have put the machine on energy save mode and the error has not come back and printing is ok.. you have suggested ricoh mpc6502 or 8002. i will think about it since i have a very busy printshop and need a reliable printer, many thanks
