Maybe there's a device with the same IP-adress as the machine.

This was my first thought. Try pinging with the machine off line.
Might also be a bad switch. Re seat the controller to be sure something didn't bounce out of position during the move.

I second erics opinion; disconnect the mashine and use an ip scanner to browse the network.

This can be fixed in many instances by changing your network speed (in User Tools) from 'Auto Select' to a static speed. I generally change it to 10Mbps Half Duplex, but others have posted using other settings too with success. Wouldn't hurt to make sure the networking firmware is up to date also.

At the bottom line of the display the machine should tell if another device is using the same IP-adress as the machine.

There are times when you can't ping the IP at all so I've assumed there was no conflict.
There was no message on the screen about a conflict.
It can be printing and reciveing a job and you can not ping the machine.

If there was a major change in the network environment, you can always try to reset the network data via the propper SP5801 and then reconfigure the NIC.

I am having a similar problem but with wireless only. When i switch Lan Type back to ethernet it works fine. This only started hapenning after a new DSL wireless modem/router was installed. It is in the same room room as the wireless router. Has a 96% signal. all security settings are set and can ping with success. after a short time it gone. cant print and wont ping?

did you ever resolve your issue ?
