Re: MPC7500 - what to expect?

This works out to be our most costly machine to run!

Great machine if you don't run it! I agree with everyone else. Hunk of crap, developer eating, duplex jamming, overtoning piece of ----. We don't sell them either.

Forgot to mention I live in Arizona (Phoenix). Doesn't get any drier or warmer then here. Still a hunk of crap.

I concur with this statement. If used primarily for b&w it isn't that bad. They require a lot of ventilation. If the room is too small and the air doesn't turn the toner add clogs up. When it isn't clogged it randomly sprays color toner everywhere. Mostly Cyan and Magenta. All of ours have painted the walls behind them a nice rainbow color. No amount of vacuuming will clean it up unless you do a call every day.

And I live in Mississippi - hot and humid - these machines are gigantic turds.

Wait until you have to rebuild the fuser... Good news is they hold up fairly well - bad news is they take almost as long to rebuild as they take to wear out, and you will replace many more parts that what the PM table calls for... As a word of caution NEVER work on one of these fusers without replacing all the bearings - it will bite you if you don't.
