    mp3350 light copies good prints?

Hey ive got a 3350 with great prints and bad copies, laser lens, scanner glass, mirrors all have been cleaned.
should i run an image dens adj? but the prints are good so this wouldn't effect it.?
drum, erase lamps, dv must be good to get a good print right?
could it be the scanner lamp? or the scanner control board?
    any suggestions?

    What is the PM count?
On most Ricoh machines a PM will fix this. I think they use differnet charge voltage for copy and print.
It has always worked for me.

    X2.
Fresh drum and DV has solved this for me.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Like Cameron said, do a rebuild of the PCU. I know it sounds strange, but rebuilding the PCU solves it. When I first encountered this I also looked at the optics, but a Ricoh tech told me to do a PCU rebuild. After rebuilding the copy was ok.

is Printing quality good, but scanning is bad?
    Attach a sccnnnig image.
Print a non-default list from sp print mode, and attach it.

Re: mp3350 light copies good prints?

Has this been resolved? I have 2 MP 2851's that have exhibited the same problem - good print quality but lighter copies. I changed SP4460-002 (Digital AE Setting) from a default of 972 to 800 to improve the copy darkness (if you do go much lower than 800 you will get background on printed copies of images scanned to email/folder, so you will need to test a print from scan to email/folder).
One of the customers called back and I did an Engine Memory Clear (SP 5810-002) only. I reinput non-default settings except for those in SP 4XXX that cover print vector, black level etc. and this noticeably improved the copy quality; however the MP 2851 can scan in colour so I don't know how that looks (most times it is defaulted to B&W scanning).
I have contacted Ricoh Tech Support in regards to this. They thought it might be the IPU PCB which is an expensive PCB in the dealership world. The PCU and Developer were not even at 30K so this would hardly seem to be a factor, and the optics are spotless.

Try Sp4918 Man Gamma Adj. Bump up the ID Max to 20 +/- on each page/screen. I never bothered with the highlight, etc.

You can find it in the manual under Replace & Adj/ Image Adj/ Printer Gamma Correction.

I had to do this A LOT on the 3260s for exactly the same reason. I don't work on the 3350, but hopefully it's still there.
