MP 2555 enable print from memory device

    Hi,
I'm trying to use the "print from memory device" feature on a Ricoh MP 2555, and I keep getting the error "because of the current settings, printing of files on the memory storage device is not available". I have administrator privileges (all types). When logged in as administrator it says " you do not have the privileges to use this" or something like that. This seems to be tied to something unrelated to authentication. I've tried authentication off across the board, and basic authentication on, logged in as a user with all privileges. The memory card reader and USB are enabled in the screen settings, and I tried both authentication settings on that end for the app. I must be missing something here, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

For one thing, when you ware logged in as Administrator the only thing you have privileges to use is User Tools. Administrator does not have privileges to use copy, scan, fax or any other machine function. Never has, never will. Administrator is for administrating the machine not operating.

Yes, I remember reading that in the manual but like I said it doesn't work under a user or with authentication off either.

Check Scanner SP 1013 Multi Media Func. It must be set to 1.

Is it disabled in User tools?
I also had a machine that would not recognize memory devices -diff than your issue but SP5801-18 was the cure for that

Has nothing to do with any authentication settings.
Check "Printer SP 1-110 Media Print Device setting" should be "1". Just tried it on a machine in the shop by turning it to "0" and get your exact same message when I try to select "Print from device" from the app.
Also, it makes "Print from mem. storage device" disappear from the classic Printer screen. <-- Easiest way to check if it's disabled in Printer SP.

Re: MP 2555 enable print from memory device

Ok, here's how I fixed it. I popped off the small cover on the left side of the screen, held down the bottom two buttons there and pressed "check status". This brought up a keypad at which I pressed reset, entered the apparently top secret code, then held clear. Now in service mode I navigated to the Printer SP-110 setting mentioned by FrohnB, pressed 1 #, then rebooted. Fixed!
