    Yes it needed the PS card in the SD slot....I don't believe the EX model does though but could be mistaken

    The EX machine is equipped with a clone program for emulating Adobe PostScript/PDF (hereafter “Clone PS”) as a standard feature. So, by default, it can perform printing using PostScript 3 and PDF Direct Print, in addition to RPCS. Clone PS is basically designed to perform similar functions to Adobe PS, except for
    several differences such as inability to use Adobe fonts.
