Ricoh MP C6004ex Designate Chapter Function

I am wanting to print a single document on three or four colors of paper in trays one through four. This is a pdf document, printing from Adobe Reader.

One example would be pages 1-12 are white, tray 4. page 13 is blue, tray 1. pages 14-19 are yellow, tray 2.

I think the Cover/Slip/Designate feature should allow me to do this. It allows me to enter one entry when I click the Designate check box, click Details, and enter 13, choose "Designate: One Side" then choose tray one. This prints page 13 on blue paper.

I expected then to be able to add another enter with 14-19 as the page numbers and then choose Tray 2.

However, the error pops up "[Designate/Chapter Settings List] has reached the maximum number of entries. No additional settings can be added or registered settings changed."

    Any ideas?

Since they are using Adobe Reader and nor the full Adobe their best solution is to send each section separately to the document server with the proper tray designated. Then can then assemble and print from the document server.

Sounds to me like you need to sell them a Fiery. All that can be dome through the Fiery console. FYI Fiery does not have to use chapters. It uses document formatting.

I may be wrong but the maximum number of chapters is limited to the number of trays minus 1 because it needs to have 1 tray available for the separator sheet. You might be able to get around that be specifying the bypass tray as the separator sheet in advance.
