    Samsung X4300LX system is initializing

This is one of four X4300LX machines being returned to the leasing company.

I ran image overwrite on all four machines to clear customer information. This one took longer than the others to run the overwrite.

It came up to the home screen instead of the initial setup guide which the other three machines displayed after the overwrite.

I tried to turn it off using the power switch on the control panel and it got stuck for hours saying now shutting down or something like that.

I then turned off the main switch on the right side of the machine and turned it back on. Screen now is displaying Please wait...System is initializing...94%

Repeated attempts at turning the main switch off are the same result. Motors run and it seems normal at first but won't come to ready.

We are not a Samsung dealership and I know next to nothing about these, please reply if you can help me.

If it's short term fix just run recovery firmware

Long term I'd replace HDD as well as running recovery

Re: Samsung X4300LX system is initializing

The machine is running now. I called HP/Samsung and they e-mailed me a link to the system recovery software.

I entered system recovery mode by opening the right door and turning the main switch on while holding the power key which is on the edge of the control panel.

Then I selected format HDD, put in 1934 as the password, put the USB stick in with the recovery software.

The recovery failed and the machine displayed a message to replace HDD.

After replacing the hard drive it was the same recovery process then the machine worked. I had to try two hard drives though. The one that worked was a 320GB from a Kyocera

Yeah it seems like 320 is required.

I always rep HDD. The few times I haven't I've always needed to do recovery again within months
