Uploaded latest firmware into Samsung SCX5835 and now displays ID/Password Login

I uploaded this firmware SCX5835_5935_V2.01.00.56_0401113_1.01 from the HP website. The machine now prompts for ID/Password and no matter what I configure in the PassThru Web App nothing is accepted. The new Firmware has expanded the User ID and Accounting functionality and even turning it off doesn't bring the full MFD functions back, especially scanning.

I am searching for an older version of the Firmware for the SCX5835_5935FN. The Samsung website is now bare of any printer information and the HP website is the latest only.

Problem solved - needed to go to a local Samsung Dealer, who asked HP very nicely for a previous Firmware.

Given the other post about SCX5935 don't under any circumstances load the SCX5835_5935_V2.01.00.56_0401113_1.01 version of firmware from the HP Website.

The version you want for the SCX5835 at least is SCX5835_5935_V2.01.00.55_OneRom which worked for me after first upload.

I agree, even with HP printers a similar thing happens when the firmware update freezes the machine if compatible cartridges are installed.

I think as a general rule, and manufacturers have actually advised me this as well.

Find a firmware version that works, and don't update it unless there is something very critical in the update in regards to security.
