Hi everyone,

We concluded recently a new maintenance contract with a company havin gsome Samsung machines in some sites.

Actually we are facing something strange with these machines:

1- Toner life is lower than expected and indicated by Samsung
2- When using Confidential printing, and when login to the secure print it's tking a while to log. Users have to put the PIN number and wait for 30 to 40 seconds

IS there someone who could help us on these issues.

What machine is this? CLP-680ND have known fault with Toners..

Assuming this device was purchased second hand. If its a photocopier replace and rebuild HDD from scratch, as the HDD will often cause slow processing on the device.

If it is a photocopier then if toners are emptying prematurely make sure that the toner is feeding properly into the developer, and also change sleep settings to max.

I forgot to say that machines are: K7500 and X4250. Machines purchased as new by the customer 2 years back, and due to covid they were not used properly.

If toner is repeatedly emptying prematurely, then check cleaning settings and also sleep settings. Excessive cleaning will cause the device to empty toner/dev out. Also, check if toner feed/supply system is properly functioning.

If device not used for 2 years it could be one of, on the toners as shelf life is roughly 18 months depending on storage conditions.

How to do HDD check up (testing) and how to replace it and rebuild it?

Wipe device on service menu
Go into boot menu, and format HDD
Insert USB and load recovery and firmware files.
Connect USB and do OPE recovery from software on laptop.

That should fully reset/rebuild the device.

The HDD sits next to the exit tray on most samsung photocopiers.

Please, I wanted to aski if there is a way for secure printing without entering 2 times the Login/PW or PIN number.

The customer want to do the athentification once. Actually they have to enter a pin number to log in to the machine (X4250) and a second time to log to the secure printing folder.
