I totally agree. The 282/3s were great little machines. They were much more reliable than the eStudio 455 that replaced it.
Did you check the sensor that is in the middle of the elevator tray?
To enter service mode with power on go to user tools and press the tool icon for 3 seconds. Enter # 1048 # and hit ok.
First you must determine if the skew is from the copier or the document feeder. Run a counter page printout first. If THAT is skewed then focus on the copier. I have seen the white plastic support...
that's it
With the Duplex open "cheat" your interlock switches. You may have a broken actuator. If memory serves me you have 2 on front door and 3 on right side.
Unlike what Black Cat said you can get into service mode while the machine is ON. Press round key that's labeled "user functions" then # 1048 #. Hold the # key until the screen changes to diagnostic....
Please tell us the jam code so that we can help you solve this. Or does it just tell you to check the tray?
[QUOTE=harisjameelpk;529952]In bottom tray unit ?
I'm sorry...I thought you had the big tray that holds 5 reams of paper.
Looks like you put in the wrong drive. You need wipe technology.
Check the electrical interface for damaged contacts.
function, original size and 3 key at the same time then when you get to next screen press 0 eight times.
I just looked up that number and it is NOT cost effective. It is the drum unit and dev unit.
Actually no fuser jams or errors as a result of this mod....wiseguy:)
I TOTALLY AGREE....Especially the "Lipstick on a Pig" remark!!!!
Check the feed rollers....they probably need to be changed.
If this box is a just a re-branded Toshiba I would say the thermopiles are getting clouded with toner from black developer that is overdue for changing. If you don't have thermopiles right now then...
If you think this procedure is a "nightmare" then you're in the wrong line of work as this is a very easy fuser to both remove and rebuild.

There is no C454 code listed for this model.....check again:confused:
If you look at his related posts about this machine it appears he is NOT.
Your machine needs SERVICE....CALL A TECH;)
