Don’t think firmware would be issue if 283 works.

If internal smtp…is there a relay set up for ip of 283?

Disconnect 283 and give other machine the ip address of 283 and test.

You have to create an image file and upload to machine. So logo placement is determined by image created

If confirmation there is a setting that can disable. I don’t remember exactly where the setting is. Check each...
