I'm reassembling a T1100 service station. What do you guys use for grease on the slides and gears? Any recommendations? Does HP have a special lube that's available? Or can I just use a white...
If that's the one you linked to earlier, I think I'll go ahead and buy one. The one I bought is too long but I made it work ok. I had to relocate the exhaust fan that's mounted on the back of the...
Was the 180W enough to handle the power needs? The original calls for a 250w.
Thanks for that link. The one I bought is too long but I got it to work and it told me what the problem was. But...
Put in the new power supply and that solved it. Booted right up to the HP Invent splash screen, then went on to the scanner program layout. I guess the Geek Squad wasn't correct on this one.
Opened up the power supply today and there are some bulging caps showing. Not sure if that's adding to the problem or not.
Replaced the Ram today with new and no change. Still get one long...
As said in first post, I removed the HD and hooked it up to my laptop w/an ESATA cable and it spun up fine and was able to open the files so I don't think the HD is an issue. I have the original DVD...
Thanks Kiran. I'll give that a try next. I have some new ram coming so if reseating doesn't do it I'll try that next.
I also replaced the CMOS battery, just to be sure that wasn't a problem. ...
Having trouble getting this scanner to boot up. Turned it on for the first time in about 8 months and it went into a loop of the screen coming up and listing the specs, like it always did, showing...
I know this is four years too late for the OP but the trick I use to replace those plenums is to use a hair dryer to soften the tube material. Slips right off. Then repeat to slip the tubes back...
Got it solved.
Part of the error message when testing the line sensor (which failed) said something about "the flag not reset" but I don't know what that meant. So I started over with the...
I've just run into this problem with lines being offset on my Z5400 that I'm trying to repair.
I recently oiled the rear carriage rod and thought maybe I got some oil on the encoder strip. Cleaned...
This is the switch I pulled out.
Ok, this one really had me stumped but I guess I finally figured it out. Sometimes it's the simplest answer.
The out-of-paper sensor needed rewiring which worked out fine. Sensor was responding...
Yes, I suspected the same thing. I took off the sensor and wiped the lense off. It was pretty clean already. No change. I did the line sensor test by manually loading paper onto the platen so the...
I'll check that first thing in the morning. Thanks!
When I load a single sheet I get an error saying "Can no longer detect paper" though it's clearly on the platen where the carriage can see it....
Fixed the OOP sensor so that's working now.
But when loading paper, I get an error message saying "Reached end of roll". This comes in the loading process. Paper is pulled into printer,...
New formatter and HD solved it. So I'm going to swap in the original PCA interconnect board and make sure that works ok.
Now that I have the display back I can see what else needs to be done. ...
That's always been my mantra too. I looked on the HP Parts Surfer website and couldn't find any of the parts; formatter, HDD or EMOD. So went with the formatter/HD that LPS has in stock. Tim also...
I got the PCA interconnect board from LPS yesterday and installed it and it made no difference. So I switched out the power supply with a known good one and still no change. So I guess the next...
I have a new (used) PCA interconnect board that I rec'd from LPS today and will install tomorrow. If that doesn't make a difference, I have a spare PSU here that I'll try next.
Does CN727-60002 interchange with CN727-67020?
Have a Z5400 (Rev A) with a CN727-60002 part number on the PCA. Printer does NOT have a scanner but there is a place to connect it on this board....
Installed new HD and got same result. "I" stays lit solid, no other lightsl, initializing stalls at 1% and then goes to error 08:11.
Something I did notice when reseating the HD; if I gently but...
Found a cable and connected the HD to my laptop via the ESATA port. HD spins up but no other sounds. Usually you can hear the mechanics moving inside the HD but this one is silent except for the...
Heard back from Tim at LPS and he agrees and thinks it's a bad HD. Didn't rule out the formatter but suggested I started with the HD. Pretty sure that's the direction I'll go once I hear back from...
