Hi guys, some good news.
The mechanism that grabs the nipple on the toner bottle and pulls it open was most likely at fault. I did notice that in the photo I posted it was stuck closed, I did...
added a couple of teaspoons of toner directly into the toner hopper and voila, the machine was happy again, so obviously the toner end sensor is good.
something's wrong with the toner bottle...
I think the label on the bottle recommends storing the bottle standing up. I always give the bottle a good shake before putting it in the machine.
Yes indeed... I am just not sure on how to do...
Here's a photo of the thing that the toner bottle goes into.
All parts are genuine Ricoh parts except from the OPC drum cylinder which I is 'compatible' but from a reputable local Ricoh...
Thanks to everyone for posting.
An update: the machine is stuck at the "add toner" error screen, it will keep rotating the bottle for the predetermined amount of time it does when toner runs out...
Hi everyone,
Ran into a bit of a mishap today - machine asks for the toner bottle to be exchanged thinking it's empty (while in fact it is not) and the density keeps dropping after running a...
Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I last reached out. I hope you're all doing well. Unfortunately, I have two separate issues with my C6500 that I could use some help with. I'll be giving...
I was (and still) use all original on this machine. The problem turned out to be a doctor blade that had a too narrow of an opening towards the side that the TCR sensor is located (had some density...
Hi Allan, thanks for dropping by.
Not sure what you mean by 'returns google account info'? I have specifically set it to not require you to sign into any account in order to fill it out.
You might want to take a look at this thread:

EDIT: Sorry for resurrecting this dead thread, I was trying to cross reference it to a newer thread where OP has the dog-ear...
This is really the point that I want to illustrate - in general, shaming the end consumer of the product for not disposing of waste generated by the product, while the end consumer is practically not...
Hi everyone,
I am currently in the process of writing an assignment on how waste generated by copiers/digital presses are managed. I have prepared a very short survey relevant to this, since most...
Hi everyone,
I am writing an assignment on how digital printing waste is managed. I would appreciate if you could fill out this short survey I have prepared. Digital printing waste disposal survey...
As far as I know, there isn't one neat way to do it. I do what others have also pointed out in the survey, which is sort out plastic and metal parts and throw it in recycling. Stuff like drum units I...
Hi everyone,
Sorry to hijack this thread, so to speak, but it's somewhat relevant to what I have to say. I am currently writing an assignment on how such waste is disposed of. I have compiled a...
Yes I did! But although I trust what you guys say is true, unfortunately presenting forum posts as evidence to back up a claim wouldn't sit very well with the professors who will be reading it.
I'd be happy to do that, sans the payment part. I've sent you a PM, let's hope I can get you going.
Maybe consider a small donation to keep CTN running?
I would suggest you post a photo of test pattern #53 printed on A3 paper set at 130 for K and 0 for Y,C and M. It will print a black halftone, that should tell us something about what's going on.

The older engines like the C6501 use the same developing units for up to 3 developer changes. According to the manual, the yield for all 4 developers is 200k and for all 4 dv units is 600k.
Hi everyone,
I am currently in the process of writing an assignment for my studies on how waste produced by office copiers and digital presses is managed and disposed of, primarily waste powders...
Hi Anthony,
What's the life reading on the K developing unit?
Right on the money! The plastic on the top of the fuser (the one with the yellow warning sticker) had been over instead of under the metal tab on the front of the fuser, causing the alignment pins to...
