There is a Skip mode which I think is what you are after.

Not really, Xerox engineers are just stripping and cleaning as needed. Flushing toner and replacing developer is the standard fix atm.
If it switches off (crashes to power off) after trying to boot its most likely overheating with bad thermal paste on the cpu or another hardware fault.
