I hope I am not a fool now...
Do the machine double count A3 internally, in the SP fields for pages printed?
Is it set to double count A3 there?

Hmm, this was a bit tricky it seems :p
However....
My point, I am very interested in technical stuff, I like exploring possibilities and limits, I like to optimize, I like to investigate.
In the end, if I came over a wreck of a 2551 and pulled the...
I know I can be a pain in the ass sometimes :p
Let say we swap all the parts from the 2051, except the controller, into the 2551. Then the 2551 would work all fine, after all the adjustments ofc....
Let's do it the other way around. Say we have a working 2551. Then we start swapping parts from a 2051 into the 2551, except the controller board ofc. At what point/at which part swapped will the...
Thank you :)
Yes, I saw this in the service manual.
Ok, so same firmware.
Then there need to be some difference on the boards telling these two controllers whether it is a 2051 or a 2551.
This...
Hi, new question.
I know the MP C2051 and MP C2551 is practically identical.
When scrolling through the parts list I find one controller board that is different between those two variants, namely...
For what it's worth...
Code: SC513-11
Description: Trailing edge shift unit HP sensor error 1: Initialization
Causes: Normally, the shift unit HP sensor goes ON within 20 pulses after...
Here you have a link where you can download the user manual in different languages.
You need to go into system settings>paper tray settings
I dont know in detail for your machine, but you should...
It is set to auto.
I am not too familiar with the network options.
However I have looked several times at my switch in the browser, and there the printer always have been at 100Mbps full duplex connection speed.
And,...
PCL6 driver didn't make any difference either.
I think the pdf files from this manual maybe are badly optimized or compiled or something...
Foxit is extremely slow, Acrobat just very very slow.
...
Hmm, not really.
I know max ppm are only 20, at highest DPI/quality it goes down to about 11ppm with A4LEF, at A4SEF it is down to about 9ppm.
But, I wasnt expecting 1-2ppm for a significant...
So far I think I can say there is several different variables in play. This particular file/files is provided to me, there is nothing I can do like download again etc. I want to print out at highest...
I found the Vector/Raster setting. Was set to Vector, changed to Raster.
With Foxit the test page data went down from 111MB to 26MB.
My pc needed 23s to compute the page/data, then 1min to send the...
I have installed the driver manually. It is using TCP/IP.
In order to accurately judge results from testing any of your good suggestions I needed to establish the baseline, which page is slow printing, how slow, how much data etc. :)
Tested printing out from the original file, one page, the same test page, with Acrobat. I only have the free Acrobat Reader version.
Acrobat only sends 6,7MB to the printer, takes about 20s to send...
Thanks for a ton of good suggestions!
This has now taken on at least as much of a learning/investigation issue as a print speed issue.
i completed printing out the ca 1500 pages last night.
I...
I can make a test with Adobe.
The FW is the newest, I bought from you but the machine already had all the newest, hehe.
Am using the latest universal driver from Ricoh. Not the dedicated driver for...
I found the post, it was slimslob.
He said the MP C2051 had a GW controller, that's the one with the turtle processor. The next one is the GW+ controller. Would have liked to know what processor is...
No, havent checked the web site. Am not looking for a new (like factory new) printer anyway.
I remember someone said in my first topic here that the controller that had this turtle speed, ancient...
I open the pdf's in Foxit reader, and print from there with Ricoh Universal driver V4.31.
Am printing duplex, yes, but still, compared to plain text with duplex, it is much slower.
Yes colors too....
Damn, you are quick!
What model of a similar (newer) Ricoh printer would have a more powerfull process capability? And would it help much on the speed when printing such pdf files?
I am printing out several large technical manuals on my old MP C2051. The manuals are pdf files of various sizes, up to say 50MB for a manual of say 100 sides for an average page size of 0.5Mb. But...
