LoL you are right. I read is as C550i, but just realized it is the old non-i.
1. Did you try re-writing latest fw?
2. can you boot safemode (holding down resetbutton while turning on)?
The only "fix" in fw is that is does not destroy data on SSD. Normally if battery dies and machines is booted it will say "Serialnumber must be entered". You now have to either change MFPB AND SSD to...
1. Is the cyan hopper actually filling. Just open and look if it is full of toner.
2. Run with the lid to cyan hopper open and look if the toner is moving to se of it is actually filling from hopper...
FS-534 IS the correct finisher for C308 so why would you deselect it in fw?

Not sure about that model, but on the new i-series you can turn on/off marketplace under Network settings - IWS - Marketplace
I have seen this now and again. first change out the whole stabler magazine/container. If still a problem, then change the stapler unit.
The bearings in the fuser goes bad and then makes that clicking sound. Change the fuser.
I had this issue this week on a new C450i. The solution was excactly as stated above. :)
It may be the paper feed drive assy. I belive it pulls both tray one and it can be defective.
