could also be a password issue? had the same issue on windows 8 pc. the cure we did was to put a password on the pc (didn't have one before) and then put that into the scan settings of the copier. ...
if your able to get hold of the firmware upgrade it to the latest versions
both those firmwares that you have are current for the mpc2500. Just checked the ricoh website. Current scanner firmware is 1.25

you need to clarify; a dc250 (black and white) does'nt have a transfer belt. A DCC250 (color machine) does. not being nasty here; but the more and correct info the better
