We've been replacing transfer belts to resolve this. No idea why but that's what seems to be the best solution.

As the others have said, Update firmware, set delivery date, run 906.
Use Maint Mode 906 to reset.
Make sure the laptop network is set to private and not public.
Do you know if it sat in storage for an extended period before it was purchased?
Was it climate controlled storage?

A broken transfer roller holder and spring can cause this type of issue. One end of the transfer roller will have no pressure from the spring.
The MK ships with the old style drum so the marks may come back after the MK is installed.
If you've done everything already suggested and the marks come back you'll need to swap in the new drum....

One sure sign of this is if the toner gauge on the Status Page or on KFS shows no toner info.
That pretty much means the magenta laser is writing the entire surface of the drum while the print is being made.
