Sounds like your boss is a tightwad to me?
A qualified Ricoh trained tech can sort that for you.
Contact your nearest dealer.
Pretty sure that's a Cyan Potential sensor issue.
I'm fighting an SC381-04 error.
If the machine is still on original drums I would certainly change the drum and clean or replace the Cyan potential...
Being that it's a Govt Department I'm sure the request will be met with shocked disgust ;)
Using a Fiery?
Also...does each machine use it's own Fiery or do all 3 share the one?
It's the State Health Department.
99% certain that they use the latest Ricoh Universal driver as they have a massive fleet of Ricoh and they're lazy I.T types :p
Yep...rookie mistake.
MP C6503.
Ricoh support have suggested a new drum for Yellow and I'll do the charge roller at the same time.
Also going to turn sleep off as a test.
Firmware is...
Just as an update on this issue....it's still ongoing.
First print of the day (color OR B/W) throws the SC381-04...users power cycle the machine and it runs perfectly all day long.
Reopening the...
Disregard the attached thumbnail...my network lagged right as I was uploading the file.
The embedded pic is what you need :)

99.9% certain that there are numerous bulletins from Ricoh about this issue.
Right.....so essentially the ONLY thing you've managed to connect to your WIFI network is the operating panel (SOP)...not the actual machine.
To be able to print, scan and access the Web Interface...
We generally recommend Toshiba AquaAce...it gives users the least trouble we've found.
I have once mistakenly fitted an EX controller to a standard machine it DOES throw a board mismatch error.
Got a sticky one for ya.
IM C6503 that throws an SC381-04 at the first print of the day.
Customer power cycles the machine and they can print all day long without issue.
Ricoh suggested replacing...
OR better still put the shoulder screws in the wrong place.
Agreed...
As much as I like hanging out here it is NOT my first port of call when I have an error.
I ALWAYS make Ricoh support take the hit so to speak.
Log that case THEN ask questions here...
Of course you've lodged a Ricoh case for advice right?
^^^THIS^^^^
and it'll be the rear one I'll bet.
Typical lawyers.....they'd rather use a 15yr old machine than upgrade to a newer machine.
The MPC2500 parts were discontinued in 2016 so how are you able to service it?
Compatible parts?
nah...we're a dealer mate...low rung on the ladder.
It's a fight to get the Govt Dept admin credentials but I have mentioned it to support.
I have idiot customers who take the bottle out and shake it to rid the message.
This overfills the bottle and as others have said backs up the waste toner system...kills the PCDU and toner hopper...
Hey all..
Got a weird one.
Received 4 x IMC4500 for a Govt Dept that were run up by Ricoh and sent to us for install.
2 of them worked fine...no issues at all.
The other 2 straight out of the box...
Sadly, in most instances that I've had of this, replacing the NVram and blowing away the meters was the only thing that worked for me.
