I agree with SP3701. I would trip each item in the PCU and make sure the machine runs like it is doing process control.

Have also seen waste bottle make noise. The machine sounds like a motor but it is the waste bottle.

Have seen firewall and anti spam give WIM some troubles on some networks

Could the bypass be set to thick paper?

I think output is based on copy, fax or print mode and not tray selection.

I think you need the Device Manager Accounting to read the user codes.

We had an account that could not see WIM because of anti malware software. We disabled it and the WIM worked fine.

We are seeing it also. Can make a lot of noise. Have not found a fix yet.

I had the same problem and it was the ID sensors. They would give readings but not what they should be.

Can the NVRAM data be copied from the SD card to laptop HDD or are you putting all NVRAMs on to one SD card?

Make sure the Line 1 and Tel are not switched. Don't ask how I know.

I had the same trouble with printing multiple pages of one document. The machine would always rotate sort every other sheet. Had to remove the PCL 6 and use PCL 5 to make it stop rotate sorting.

Are you going to use the B079 developer in the new MP4001 machines?
I am told they use the B296 developer.
