    Re: IE and PWS

My guess would be a patch to keep IE. They have form for it.

That's the little scanner board we refer to as the Pixie board. I think it's actually called PYXIS board

Re: Xerox versant 3100 engineer code

It is indeed the same as all others. That said, running a 3100 with no service contract, and a key user who doesn't even know how to get into service mode, is asking for trouble.

[Error Code] Re: Phaser 7800 Fault

The new gears now come with a metal backing to them to stop them breaking.

  5. Re: Turn off Xerox monitoring or remote services

It will affect the remote toner monitoring for Xerox, but as they are coming off contract then that's fine isn't it? You can run your own monitoring tool with no problems, as they use SNMP and...

    Re: Altalink C8035

Just to be absolutely certain they are configured the same, have you set up the clone file sharing between devices?

Steps I'd also be trying would be to change the device IP in case that's being...

Re: Versant 80/180 IBT Belt Replacement

Pull out main drawer, and release stops on main drawer to go one pull further.

Remove IBT Belt Cleaner on RH side (2 screws)

Remove IBT Belt Drawer screws (2 on RH side and 3 on LH side)

  8. Re: Turn off Xerox monitoring or remote services

Go onto web interface and the option is in there to turn it off. Customer can do it no problem

Woke up to that MS email this morning and thought the same thing.

There will probably be a Xerox patch to stop it redirecting to edge, and they will just carry on using IE11

There is an official bulletin on this. Eureka tip #1463964

Investigation is ongoing, to determine the scope of the problem.

Solution is to replace consumables and perform a full toner delivery...

Re: Xerox C60 copy quality issues

You don't seem to have said what the actual quality issue is. Can you post an example? Have you tried test pages from service mode?

  13. Re: Xerox ColorQube 8700 - Print quality issues

It's been a good few years since I've worked on any ColorQube, but I recall seeing some very similar output.

If I remember correctly, it was a timing issue with the print head or print head tilt....

Re: Xerox Versant 180 error 42-384

Machines built after June 7th 2018, don't have an encoder. It's all in the NVMs. Have you done an NVM initialisation?

Re: GSN lock & bus station question

Strange. We're an ASP and each have our own and have to have individual GSN ID to get booked on training courses.

That GSN ID and all training records then follow you as an individual, should you...

Re: GSN lock & bus station question

Why don't you assign all of your techs a separate GSN ID and let them set their own password? Their GSN ID is needed for them to do proper training and certification anyway

    Re: gsnlock

As above, easiest is a USB to serial adapter.

That said, going back to your original question, you can run gsn lock and PWS tools on multiple computers. Just log into XRXGSN online and download...

There's such a crossover in families, the Xerox product line family tree is practically a totem pole.

Everything's an evolution of an old machine, so I could see people spamming multiple sections...

    Re: Fiery & Xerox issues

I tend to set auto update at 0300 or something, and it will do all the necessary reboots after each one, and be done by morning.

I'm not seeing any issues. I pretty much exclusively work production kit with Fiery controllers.

Some do, but not this one. The USB cable method tends to be on their production kit and not the office Workcentre/AltaLink/VersaLinm range

    Re: xerox

You altboot with a usb using the freely available firmware on xerox.com

Details on USB file/folder structure are on your service manual under general procedures.
