[Jamming] Re: Canon ir2870 jam problem

Is it obvious? Can you be more specific? Paper size and orientation maybe? =^..^=

  3. Re: Bizhub C258 artefacts, strange lines on printouts

How about internal prints, like the management list or configuration page? Do you get any of the original image?

If you emergency stop the machine mid-print, is there a properly developed latent...

    Re: Image "repeat"

Both sound like great workarounds! Unfortunately the typical MFP enduser cannot understand that machines have limitations, and may not be able to make a perfect reproduction of every possible image....
  5. Re: PRESS 6120, warped drum claw assembly

5M copies later: no re-occurrence. My MacGuyvered drum claw assembly is working just fine, with no additional heat deformation. Whatever occurred before has not repeated. =^..^=

[Misc] Re: TA 4500i dark background

So you've wiped out every adjustment. What were you hoping to achieve by doing this?

I think that I'd do the image adjustments, and color calibrations. for starters.

    Re: Konica c3351/3851 Thoughts?

    Few differences. =^..^=
  8. Re: C-458, "Function Cannot Be Used Because the Scanner is Not Available"

It would have been a good idea to print off the management list to at least see what the error was. =^..^=

    Re: Print quality problem C284

    +1 on all of this.

I always listen and consider what the enduser tells me.
Then ... I make my own observations. Rarely, do I come to the same conclusions. =^..^=

    Re: Image "repeat"

I would make a wild ass guess that that is a drum interval: ~96mm". I would suspect poor charge cleaning on one of the drums. Maybe poor drum ground.

It would be informative to make digital...
  11. Re: Kyocera FS-C8520 transfer belt cleaner problem

If you have 1mm of space underneath the corner of the belt assy, you could cut a piece of 1mm thick black plastic to layer under the two parts, clean all of the surfaces with alcohol, attach with two...

Re: TA 508ci part came off ?

It's the right color ... but no, I cannot identify it.

It looks sorta like a shelf support bracket. Take a look at the nearby cabinets/furniture. =^..^=
  13. Re: Bizhub C258 artefacts, strange lines on printouts

Those would have been my choices.

Do you get any of the original image?
Is this a background behind the text?
Was the sample a black-only scan, or a color scan? I suspect it's a black scan since...

    Re: Taskalpha 6053ci toner doors

Another consideration: If you get an error message, especially an enduser resettable one like C1020, the toner doors all pop open during an error condition. I've had to tell customers that you do not...

  17. Re: LaserJet 2420 grey background - posted on behalf of AlanHK

The only situation in which you might want to clean a drum is if it had label adhesive on it. I use paraffin lamp oil on a Q-tip, and clean only the smallest affected area, then again with alcohol....
  18. Re: KM c7000 J-9401 - Paper jamming in ADU

Firstly, congratulations! It's a lot of work.

Just a side comment: I had a C6000 with duplex skewing. I wasn't the first or only tech working on it, and it had a lot of copies. EVERY painted...

    Re: DesignJet 450C

12 years back, we had a Designjet 500 that we connected to an ancient Windows 97 PC as a print server, then shared the driver out to the rest of the network. As long as you didn't try to do anything...

    Re: SL-M3870FD - Faded stripe

Take a look at the developing roller. Is there a 5.6mm bare area on the developing roller?

Common on monocomponent developing devices, the machine may not detect that the toner cartridge is mostly...

Not as any kind of a long term solution. Just change them.

In a pinch, if I need 6 clutches and I have 4, I've taken the old ones apart and sorted through the pile o'parts to make two more usable...
  23. Re: LaserJet 2420 grey background - posted on behalf of AlanHK

Did you use air to blow out the printer. It's just not a good idea to blow around toner. It has a way of settling down in hard to find places. I would start by cleaning the laser slit glass, and if...

Re: TA 2552ci loss of color
