  1. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

Going back out with an Emod and control panel. I guess I'll grab the wide gray cable too. Too bad I don't have a PS to take with me. But I guess if those other things don't help, the PS is the...
  2. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

I noticed that if I hold down on the cancel button and plug it in, the icon with the X immediately comes up. If I plug it in without holding the cancel button, I first see the HP invent logo for a...

    iss didn't work

    cancel button doesn't look stuck
  4. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

Thanks, I'll see where I can get. I have access to a used ISS I can take with me, so I'll try this first and then put in the ISS and see if that solves it.
  5. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

That makes sense, but I can't get over the fact that the power supply fan never turns on.

    Re: cp3525 with 59.f0 error

I'm tempted to repad that solenoid, but I think the low price you pay for a new unit is worth all the work of taking it apart a second time. Just throw it away.
  7. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

I'm thinking power supply because the power supply fan does not even come on. It only gets 2 or 3 seconds into the power up before this appears.
  8. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

yeah i've removed everything to no avail
  9. Re: Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

I'll get the customer to install all new ink and see what happens.
  10. Designjet 500. x over ink ctg but no error

I've got a dj500 with a picture of an x blinking on the right side of the printer in the control panel but it's not giving me an error. i've seen a document talking about the blinking on the power...

    Re: new fuser smell

I remember the smell now. If you take a new fuser smell and multiply it by ten, that's the smell of an overheated water heater. Maybe there's some similar substance in the insulation. I remember...

    Re: Scitex FB550 Printheads

He might look into whether or not all the printheads actually have to be replaced. On a regular plotter, if it's not used in 1 year, you just assume it needs printheads. On a UV printer, since the...

    Re: Laserjet M608 printing slow.

Quiet mode is set to "off". Resolution is set to "FastRes 1200"... not sure what other choices are there because I'm just looking at the settings printout, but I'll tell the cust to check it. And...

    Laserjet M608 printing slow.

This machine is printing real slow as if I'm printing labels. The drawer is set to plain paper, and the plain paper settings are all set to 'normal'. It prints slow whether I'm printing from the...

    Re: Designjet Z6600 24:10 & 79 error

Thanks, Kiran. The cyan bag WAS broken. It did leak a little. By the time I'd gotten there, they had already replaced it. So I checked to make sure the new one is good and checked the lines, and...

    Designjet Z6600 24:10 & 79 error

I've got a designjet 6600 60" that started with a 24:10 error. The light cyan (why does this printer have a light cyan but no cyan) bag had busted. The air tubes had no substantial ink in them, and...

Re: Replacing the printer and copier business

Look, my dad taught me everything I know. We once set up a system of switches, relays, and timers on a piece of wood to take the place of my washer/dryer PCB because it blew and I couldn't afford a...

Re: Replacing the printer and copier business

    I guess that explains everything.

My point is that "printer and copier repair" is a dying industry. You're too young to remember the giant fleets of copier repair guys. Each city had at least...

Let's face it, we were already a dying industry. I'm starting to feel like the covid scare pretty much finished us off. I am constantly trying to find new equipment to take the place of the...
