    Kip 7170 service entry

Looking for service entry to check fuser speed for voiding on long prints. Had a manual, then had a flood in business. Manual go bye bye.
Any help would be appreciated. I found 7170k online but not the same animal I do not believe.

    Re: Kip 7170 service entry

    Does it look like this?:

I caused this issue after changing a drum. The cast aluminum drum retainers/brackets were incorrectly seated, causing the paper to ripple while passing below the drum. I got a bulletin from Kip that was supposed to resolve the issue adjusting motor speeds. I spent ~ 2 days on this problem. Eventually our KM rep came out and found the retainer issue.

I can include the bulletin, but for me, it was the wrong path to a solution.

You can remove the side covers, and watch the paper passage ... seeing the ripple begin. Here is my database entry:

Voids areas of a seemingly random shape, on 18" & 24" wide paper, and 17.5" from trailing edge, seen on Arch D sized images and larger. Missing pieces of image appear 9.88" further down the page. Replaced pressure roller (Z164400850), bearings ([2]9000780174), nail set lower-set of 7 (Z160980130). Adjusted fuser motor speed in BUD 702 (40 > 0) for some improvement. Transfer issue? Re-position drum mounts, so that the bearings seat properly, and the mount fits tight to the frame.

I pulled out a lot of my remaining hear on this issue.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
